Ted Lapidus began his career in the 1950s, first applying the elements of "haute couture" to military and safari elements. Ted Lapidus makes blue jeans as part of his everyday form. The designer`s greatest fame came in the 1960s when his creations were worn by celebrities such as Bridget Bardo and Allen Delon. The brand also offers perfumes. The perfumes as well as the clothes of the brand emphasize the freshness, simplicity, and freedom. The first Ted Lapidus perfume was released in 1975 and the last in 2016. The company has 31 perfumes. The perfumers working for the brand are Alexandra Carlin, Gerard Anthony, Roger Pellegrino and others.
