Royal Bain de Champagne` was created for a billionaire who used to bathe in Champagne prior to the Wall St crash of the 1930`s and was now looking for something equally indulgent but a little less extravagant! The scent itself explodes from the bottle just like Champagne - the aldehydes at the top sparkle and take the breath away, speaking of which, the initial effect is very narcotic which I believe is the benzoin note getting a little more oxygen into the lungs and thus to the brain. Add to this incense and opoponax and you have instant euphoria(!) and this is the perfect addition to your Saturday evening bathing ritual before hitting the town - it really does make you feel like dancing! The heart is a combination of rose, lilac and violet that one would expect to create a very floral fragrance but this really isn`t (although the lilacs certainly make an impression), and a soft warm vanilla/musk base which again is indulgent. Royal Bain de Caron is exciting and glamorous as a scent - it deserves a roll top bath and a glass of Champers! Oh and it still comes in its original `Champagne` bottle just to add a little vintage decadence to our practical bathrooms.
